Bell Helicopter has delivered the first of 100 Bell 407GXP singles on order from Shaanxi Helicopter Co. Ltd. (SHC), a subsidiary of Shaanxi Energy Group. Bell announced the delivery on Thurday at China's Xi’an Air Show.
Sealed in June, the 100-ship order is worth approximately $300 million and finalizes a framework agreement the company entered with SHC in 2016. During a signing ceremony earlier this summer in Xi’an with Bell CEO Mitch Snyder, Shaanxi Energy Group president Xiaoning Yuan said the selection of the 407GXP was based in part on its multi-role capabilities in “a broad range of segments, including EMS, parapublic, tourism and firefighting.”
Yuan added, “The gradual development of planned delivery, support and training infrastructure will continue to promote the utilization of the 407GXP in China and provide Chinese operators with a total solution of product and technical assurance.” More than 1,400 Bell 407s are in service worldwide.
