Gulfstream G280 Fleet Tops 100,000 Hours

The Gulfstream G280 fleet recently surpassed the 100,000 flight-hour mark, a milestone reached within five years of the first model entering service in November 2012, Gulfstream announced late last week. More than 115 G280s are in service, and through last month the fleet had achieved a dispatch reliability rate of 99.90 percent, the Savannah, Georgia-based business jet manufacturer said.

“This aircraft continues to grow in popularity,” said Dan Nale, Gulfstream Aerospace's senior v-p of programs, engineering and test. “It has a class-leading combination of range, fuel efficiency and field performance and the technology typically found on a larger business jet."

The G280 can operate at challenging airports such as London City, Lugano and Samedan/St. Moritz in Europe, Nale said, adding, “Our customers will continue to benefit from its performance and features for years to come.”

Gulfstream's super-midsize G280 has a 3,600-nm range at Mach 0.80, enabling it to connect New York with Paris, Chicago with London, or London with Dubai. The aircraft’s city-pair speed records include a 7-hour, 40-minute flight from Paris to New York.
