Tokyo-based AirX last month launched CodeShare, an Uber-like helicopter ride-sharing service that provides per-seat lift from the Shinkiba Tokyo heliport to Narita International Airport, Hakone and Hatsushima for prices ranging from $530 to $620. The service matches reservations to available helicopters from partner providers; however, it is not geared to the extemporaneous traveler as three-day advance reservations are required for passengers with luggage, 24-hour advance booking for those without. AirX can also arrange for ground transportation and baggage handling.
