Bombardier Business Aircraft is moving Global 5000 completions work from Montreal to Wichita Eisenhower National Airport as it begins to ramp up outfitting activities for its new Global 7000 at Montréal–Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport. It will thus be adding about 100 news jobs in Wichita and another 1,000 in Montreal over the next 18 months, the company announced on Friday.

As part of the announcement, the Canadian aircraft manufacturer designated Montreal a center of excellence for interior completions of Global 7000s and invested $65 million at the site for “forward-looking production.”

Interior completion work for the Global 7000 is ramping up for the aircraft's entry-into-service during the second half of 2018. “The Global 7000 will be the largest purpose-built business jet in the industry and will revolutionize business aviation thanks to its combination of size, range and comfort,” Bombardier said. “It will feature the industry's most well appointed kitchen and four distinct living spaces.”
