Airbus has named Richard Marelli, president of its Helibras subsidiary, as Airbus's lead executive for Brazil. In his added role, Marelli will be Airbus's principal representative in Brazil and responsible for government affairs in support of the company’s commercial campaigns.
Marelli has worked for Airbus since earning his master's degree in engineering from the National Institute of Applied Sciences (INSA) in Lyon, France, in 1981. During his tenure with Airbus, Marelli played a role in the development of the Dauphin and Super Puma helicopters in France, as well as serving as director of the NH90 assembly lines. He has been at Helibras since 2010, assuming the presidency at the end of 2015.
In his new capacity, Marelli reports to Alberto Robles, chief of the Latin America region for Airbus.
