A Cessna Citation Mustang was destroyed when it crashed in Germany on Thursday night, killing the two crewmembers and the lone passenger. According to reports, the light twinjet, registered as OE-FWD, was being operated by Skytaxi Luftfahrt when it went down in a snowstorm near the end of a charter flight from Egelsbach Airport.

The aircraft was on approach to Friedrichshafen Airport when it crashed in a rural wooded area in Sieberatsreute, 9.32 miles/15 km from the runway. A post-crash fire destroyed the aircraft.

Based in Bregenz, Austria, Skytaxi was founded in 2007 to provide jet service for the regions around Lake Constance in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Liechtenstein. Company CEO, managing director and chief pilot Adi Anderst was the captain on the accident flight. Skytaxi operated a pair of Mustangs. The incident is the first fatal accident for the type, as well as the first major accident of a Citation Mustang in a decade.
