Content Body

A group of leaders from across the industry is unveiling a plan next week that is designed to advance the development and adoption of alternative fuels. Details of the sustainable alternative jet fuels (SAJF) plan will be highlighted during the annual EBACE aviation media luncheon on May 28 in Geneva. Participants say the initiative is part of the industry’s commitment to reducing emissions.

Global business aviation stakeholders have collaboratively set goals of achieving a 2-percent improvement in efficiency per year from 2010 until 2020, carbon-neutral growth from 2020 onwards, and a 50-percent reduction in carbon emissions by 2050, relative to 2005.

As part of the unveiling of the plan, industry leaders will release a Business Aviation Guide to the Use of Sustainable Alternative Jet Fuel, as well as sign a declaration of commitment to the initiative and to the industry’s climate change goals.

Speaking during the event on Monday are leaders from the European Commission, Dassault Falcon Jet, Bombardier Business Aircraft, EBAA, and NBAA. Other stakeholders—including representatives from GAMA, NATA, IBAC, the Air Transport Action Group, and Geneva Airport—also will on hand to show support for the unveiling of the plan. EBAA, GAMA, IBAC, NATA, and NBAA worked together to develop the SAJF initiative.
