Business aviation group purchasing organization Aviaa (Booth 1650) is demonstrating its Aviaa Dashboard this week at NBAA 2018, saying the platform enables its members to “quickly and easily understand their overall spending and the returns they are making." The dashboard provides spending insight across seven key spend categories: fuel, maintenance, ground services, data, training, operations, and insurance. Operators can then use a calculator to calculate savings relative to industry norms, as supplied by Conklin & de Decker data.

The company aims to help business jet owners and operators compete with companies that already benefit from economies of scale. Aviaa said 75 percent of its members are in the U.S., although aircraft are based globally.

According to the Irvine, California-based company (which also has an office in Oxford, UK), members also make substantial savings from aggregating buying with other companies from Aviaa’s preferred supplier network. Meanwhile, suppliers benefit from “committed volume and reduced friction costs.”

The dashboard is useful in that it allows users to monitor what they spend in detail, for example singling out airports they visit. COO/CPO Rick Tilghman, who heads the Aviaa engineering team, said that creating an analytical engine and service that can deliver tailored insights to such different groups, including pilots, operations personnel, and owners "was a great challenge.”
