Helitech organizers expect the third iteration of Helitech at the RAI Amsterdam Exhibition and Convention Centre to attract 30 to 40 percent more attendees than in 2016, the last time the show took place at that venue. The optimism reflects the steady recovery of an industry emerging from a significant economic slowdown in recent years. The European venue is particularly apropos as growth of the leasing market has been particularly pronounced on the continent.

Through the end of this September OEMs had logged orders for 500 helicopters, representing an increase of about 15 percent compared to the same period in 2017. The crucial offshore helicopter market is likely to experience growth as a result of a steady and stable oil price that is $20 or more higher than it has been, per barrel, for the last few years, and some leasing companies claim that they are already seeing signs of such a recovery.

This year's event has attracted 29 new exhibitors, including Thales, and included hour-long updates by the major helicopter and engine OEMs on the third day.
