Aircraft wheel and brake system specialist TP Aerospace has received EASA approval for its paperless processes throughout its in-house MRO shops. The company has implemented a new system that allows for digital sign-off of work orders and digital task lists, increasing efficiency through time optimization and reduced risk of human error.
Through its current system, developed by Component Control, the Denmark-based company has managed customization to the point where it can now electronically process work orders from the introduction of a unit, through the maintenance procedure, to the end of the final inspection. The direct data entry method replaces the old barcode scanning system, where codes were required for all tools and hardcopy work orders. Now the number of procedures are linked to digital protocols. By next year, it expects all of its facilities to go paperless.
“With the paperless system, we have developed a modern and efficient method for easing the workflow, reducing risk of mistakes, and ensuring the best possible service to our customers worldwide,” said Prashan Ambawatta, the company’s technical director,” and with the best people behind it, we are set to handle complex work orders in a simple way.”
