Garmin has delivered the 750th G1000/G1000 NXi flight deck for the Beechcraft King Air turboprop twi, the Olathe, Kansas-based avionics manufacturer announced this week. Certified and introduced in 2007, the G1000 and its G1000 NXi successor have been retrofitted on nearly all variants of the King Air, including the C90A/B, 200/B200, 300, and 350.

This latest installation was made by Stevens Aerospace and Defense in Greenville, South Carolina, for a U.S. Army King Air B200C, known as the C-12F in its military designation. The G1000/G1000 NXi retrofit offers King Air operators a modern flight deck that provides 250 pounds of weight savings compared with original equipment with more utility and enhanced operational capabilities, according to Garmin.

“The global acceptance of the G1000/G1000 NXi King Air upgrade has made it the most successful integrated flight deck retrofit for this family of aircraft,” said Garmin v-p of aviation sales and marketing Carl Wolf. The G1000/G1000 NXi was the first to introduce the King Air with synthetic vision technology, datalink, e-charts, and other advanced safety features.
