CloudAhoy’s CJP-FOQA (flight operations quality assurance) program is now available for members of the Citation Jet Pilots Association (CJP). The two organizations have partnered to bring data-driven analysis from FOQA to CJP members who typically fly single-pilot in Cessna Citations.
Using data from Textron Aviation’s onboard LinxUs flight data monitoring system installed in later-model Citations or a data acquisition device from AirSync, CJP-FOQA helps pilots view post-flight analyses to help improve their performance and inform training plans. After each flight, CJP-FOQA sends an email to the pilot with objective feedback on the flight.
According to CloudAhoy, this includes stabilized approach performance, links to a detailed briefing with pilot graphs, flight analysis, and 3D visualizations such as a head-up display view. Pilots can also view a dashboard of anonymized aggregated flight data provided by other CJP members.
According to Charlie Precourt, CJP safety committee chair, “Working with CloudAhoy, we have been able to create a program that aggregates trend data like the airlines, but importantly adds a pilot-oriented feedback report immediately after each flight. This allows each pilot in CJP-FOQA to learn from the group trends while also tracking their own flight outcomes for continuous improvement and safety—a first-of-its-kind capability in the FOQA world.”
