Content Body

Alto Aviation introduced five new base receptacles as part of its Cadence Cabin Control product line at the AEA International Convention and Trade Show. The receptacles are designed to accommodate Alto articulating tablet holders and also are a direct replacement for legacy Rosen monitor receptacles.

Fewer business aircraft cabins are flying with monitors at seat locations, with more passengers bringing their own tablets. The base-only Cadence receptacle “is well-suited to update aging Rosen bases,” according to Alto, “or to add a new base to a new location on the aircraft.” The receptacle bolts in using the same fastening scheme as the Rosen base.

With the new Cadence base installed, the Cadence articulating tablet holder plugs into the base. The holder accommodates a MyGoFlight tablet holder, which can adjust to any size tablet, or other MyGoFlight tablet cradles.

Various configurations for the Cadence base receptacles are available, including single USB charging port and dual USB (A and/or C), with or without a decorative bezel. “This arrangement allows an infinitely variable articulating PED holder with several mounting and charging options,” according to Alto.

The Cadence receptacle requires just a connection to power, which can be adapted from the power that was supplied to the Rosen receptacle. Another option is adding an HDMI connector to the Cadence receptacle, for aircraft where HDMI wiring and connections are utilized.
