General Aviation Services (GAS), a company that specializes in ground-support operations throughout Africa, is exhibiting at EBACE for the first time. The company (Booth I45) was established in East Africa in 1984 to provide services such as ground handling and fueling coordination, and the arrangement of landing and overly permissions. In the course of this work GAS works closely with the civil aviation authorities and their authorized agents in all 54 African countries. Since 2020 GAS has arranged more than 8,000 permits for 600 customers.
In addition to a continent-wide network of agents, GAS has a number of offices, including one in Mwanza in Tanzania where a nationwide direct supervision service is undertaken and a recently expanded base in Kigali in Rwanda. Recently, a third African office was opened in Moroni in the Comoros Islands. In 2016, the GAS UK office was opened in London to provide a base closer to many of the key customers outside of Africa.
