AMAC Aerospace has opened a branch in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the Basel, Switzerland-based executive airliner specialist announced last week at EBACE. In making the move, the company cited an “increasing regional demand” for completion and MRO services and “the tremendous presence of business and commercial aviation” in the kingdom.
“We wish to bring Swiss excellence to Saudi aviation,” said Bernd Schramm, Group COO of privately owned AMAC. “Thereby, we can ensure our existing and potential clients are able to experience the attention to detail that their aircraft deserve.”
The new office is headed by Ghalib al Subeaei, who brings experience and connections throughout Saudi Arabia and the Middle East to the position.
AMAC also reported redelivering a Boeing BBJ Max8 and Airbus AC320neo this year following green completions performed at its Basel completion center, with a green BBJ Max8 and ACJ319neo due for induction and completion in the second half. Meanwhile, strong aircraft transaction activity has created “intense interest” in pre-purchase inspections for large-cabin jets at its Basel facility. In fact, the company is conducting four to five inspections per week at Hangar 5, its large-cabin jet MRO facility.
Concurrently, at its Istanbul repair station, AMAC is ramping up service capabilities and authorizations for the Dassault Falcon 6X in anticipation of the forthcoming flagship’s certification and service entry, which is expected in the coming weeks.
