Content Body

Croydon, UK-based Zotefoams is showing its Zotek F closed-cell crosslinked foams for aircraft interiors at NBAA-BACE 2023 in the Central Hall. Offering weight savings of up to 70 percent compared with traditional materials, Zotek F reduces carbon footprint without compromising comfort or performance, said Zotefoams.

The foam comes in a range of grades and can be applied to several uses in the cabin and behind panels.

Produced from high-grade polyvinylidene fluoride, Zotec F’s physical performance is compatible with a wide range of forming methods, allowing for the production of complex shapes. The foam has earned what Zotefoams calls outstanding ratings in fire, smoke, and toxicity tests.

Behind-the-panel uses include environmental control system ducting, flex hoses, and sleeves, while the foam’s strength, durability, and consistency also make it ideal for window seal applications.

Within the aircraft interior, applications include first- and premium-class seat pods, covered decorative and non-decorative panels, soft-touch trim, as well as rigid armrests, consoles, tray tables, footwells, stowage lockers, and carpet underlay.
