Content Body

Skytrac and Videosoft Global are developing an ultra-low-bandwidth video streaming solution that will be available over the Iridium Next satellite network using Skytrac’s Iridium Certus-equipped devices. The streaming solution is ideally suited for airborne observation and surveillance, according to Skytrac.

Skytrac customers will be able to use the Videosoft streaming platform to access simultaneous streaming of multiple scenes, AES128- and AES256-bit encryption, and high-resolution snapshots and video retrieval. Streaming will be available at speeds as low as 4 Kbps, and also over cellular and radio-based IP networks in addition to Iridium.

“With our mutual understanding of creating solutions for harsh and low-bandwidth environments,” said Skytrac director of product management Iain Ronis, “this partnership is set to open new avenues for both of us.”
