London City Airport’s Private Jet Centre (PJC) has deployed next-generation security scanners to streamline boarding procedures.
Content Body

London City Airport’s Private Jet Centre has deployed next-generation security scanners, it announced on Tuesday. The scanners have been on trial at several UK commercial airports and are expected to enter full use at those that meet the deadline for installation at the end of June. Private Jet Centre, though, is the first FBO in the country to offer the new scanners.

With this advanced equipment, passengers are no longer required to remove laptops or other large electronic items from their carry-on luggage. Gone, too, is the 100-milliliter limit on liquid containers, with a maximum of two liters being permitted. This will significantly streamline the security clearance process.

“We are thrilled to unveil this cutting-edge technology that will transform our customer experience by reducing the stress and hassle of 100-milliliter liquids in clear plastic bags and having to unload your hand luggage,” said Private Jet Centre commercial manager Chris Clayton. "As we get ready to handle a surge in traffic during the upcoming Paris Olympics and European Football Championships in Germany, our state-of-the-art security area will enable passengers to enjoy an even quicker and smoother experience.”

Moreover, Private Jet Centre is introducing a dedicated screening area for hold baggage that will further expedite the boarding process. London City is the closest business aviation airfield to the UK’s principal financial district at Canary Wharf, which is just 10 minutes away.
