As charter companies are increasingly turning to artificial intelligence (AI) to make their operations more efficient, Avitor.ai is enhancing the capabilities of its AI-powered private jet booking and trip planning platform with a tremendous amount of data and natural language processing capabilities.

Avitor’s generative AI-powered private aviation marketplace now includes information on 3,300 operators, 15,000 aircraft, and 34,000 airports worldwide, and the company developed its AI algorithm from more than 1.5 million flight records and 25,000 sales queries. According to the New York City-based company, the platform provides travelers, brokers, and operators with personalized private flight services at an “unprecedented” speed.

“We utilize generative AI to empower the marketplace for both brokers and operators, and by doing that, we build a bridge to bring the supply and demand together to make sure that their operations are more efficient,” which can help to reduce operating costs, Avitor CEO Wen Wang told AIN. “By leveraging generative AI, our system will be able to help our brokers and online travel agencies manage their clients 24/7, which means that they don't even need human beings to be there to manage their clients,” Wang said.

She explained that Avitor’s generative AI platform alleviates brokers’ workloads by handling common queries from clients, like questions about aircraft pricing, availability, and specifications. It can tell a customer how many seats are on an aircraft, provide guidance on FBOs, and list the travel documents required to bring a pet on an international trip, for example.

The tool is particularly helpful for first-time flyers, who tend to have many basic questions that human sales representatives spend a lot of time answering, private aviation industry consultant and AI expert Roger Zhan told AIN. Zhan previously served in executive roles at Wheels Up and Textron Aviation and has helped Avitor develop its AI tools. By adding the ability to understand human language, generative AI “is able to make the tool more accessible to the customer and the user,” he said.

With traditional AI tools, a customer or booking agent submits a query and the AI software generates the answer using information from a set database. Avitor’s generative AI software takes that function up a notch by analyzing and learning from an extensive history of client interactions on top of its enormous database of records.

“We've been in the industry for more than eight years, and currently we've already collected at least 1.5 million flight records [and] 25,000 human interactions with our sales team, so our AI tools build upon real data that we collected in the industry,” Wang explained.

As Avitor continues to expand, Wang envisions a future version of the platform that includes other segments of the travel and hospitality industries, such as ground transportation, hotels, and travel planning services. Once eVTOL aircraft enter service, Avitor aims to include urban air mobility operations in its marketplace. The company plans to become the first AI-powered platform “to provide a total solution for luxury travelers,” Wang said.
