A new FBO chain launched yesterday with the acquisition of Odyssey Aviation’s U.S. assets by Tallvine Partners, a Miami-based private investment firm that is making its first venture into the segment and will throw its hat into the ultra-competitive FBO consolidation ring.

Odyssey’s holdings include three facilities in the U.S.: Willow Run Airport (KYIP) in Detroit, Florida’s Kissimmee Gateway Airport (KISM), and St. Simons Island Airport at McKinnon Field (KSSI) in Georgia. Together, the three locations equate to more than 270,000 sq ft of aviation buildings and 57 acres of ramp.

According to Tallvine, they will form the nucleus of a larger FBO platform that will be led by industry veteran Chad Farischon—the former co-founder and president of the Lynx FBO network—with support from Tallvine operating director Ed Zwirn.

“We see this as a tremendous opportunity to create a leading FBO business in North America with significant growth potential,” said Tallvine partner Mark Clark. “We look forward to working closely with Chad and Ed to execute on exciting opportunities including hangar expansions, operational enhancements, and complementary acquisitions across the U.S. and Canada.”
