In the second half of this year, owners of Cessna Citations will be able to upgrade Collins Pro Line 21 avionics with modern features that provide critical information to pilots and simplify database uploads. The upgrade will be applicable in the CJ1+, CJ2+, CJ3, CJ4, and XLS+.
With the upgrade, pilots will be able to tap into controller-pilot data link communications services and while flying in the U.S. obtain free ADS-B In weather information. Other new features include integration between electronic flight bags and the avionics, wireless database uploading using a dedicated Collins app, and the addition of the FAA’s Privacy ICAO Address. This allows operators of U.S.-registered aircraft that use a third-party flight ID to request a temporary ICAO address that doesn’t identify the aircraft’s owner.
“These enhancements are based on direct feedback received from customers, letting us know they desired cockpit upgrades that made flight more intuitive, communicative, and efficient,” said Nathan Voight, v-p and general manager of business and regional avionics at Collins Aerospace. “Our Pro Line 21 Citation upgrades do just that, providing pilots with a modern flight deck that keeps them connected and informed.”
The upgrade will be available from Collins dealers and Textron Aviation service centers.
