German business aviation services group Aero-Dienst is partnering with hourly maintenance provider Engine Assurance Program (EAP) to expand support for engines and auxiliary power units (APUs) in Europe. Under an agreement announced on Thursday, the companies will mainly focus on Honeywell’s TFE731 turbofan, with other engine types to be added gradually.
According to Andrea Weyrich, maintenance engine shop manager at Nuremburg-based Aero-Dienst, the partnership covers EAP’s clients for aircraft-on-ground and mobile repair team support, as well as for engine repairs and both unscheduled and scheduled maintenance up to and including major period inspections. The facility has completed repairs on more than 800 Honeywell and Pratt & Whitney business aircraft engines.
EAP said that 30% of all Learjets operated in Germany have their TFE731 engines enrolled on one of the U.S.-based group’s support programs. “With more than 40 years of TFE731 experience, Aero-Dienst has definitely earned our respect as a partner who shares our high standards for engine maintenance and repair,” commented EAP’s managing director, Sean Lynch. “We also will be able to increase responsiveness and reduce complexity by not having to ship engines internationally.”
One of Aero-Dienst’s two workshops focuses entirely on the TFE731 series of engines as well as Honeywell’s HTF7000 turbofans and APUs. The second is dedicated to Pratt & Whitney Canada’s PW300 series.
