Jettax Holdings, a company co-founded by aviation attorney and Lapayowker Jet Consulting founder Stewart Lapayowker, is acquiring the tax and consulting firm Aviation Financial Consulting (AFC) in a transaction that will bring together two established practices in the business aviation sector, the organizations announced this week. The transaction is expected to close in early 2026.
The acquisition will provide additional capacity to enable AFC to serve the growing private aviation market and formalize a long-time collaborative relationship. Lapayowker and AFC owner Glenn Hediger have worked alongside each other for nearly three decades to provide aviation legal, accounting, and tax expertise to shared clients, they said.
“We have worked together so well and so often that this just made good sense. We consistently challenge each other’s thinking in ways that benefit our clients. There’s no doubt this will be a rewarding and enjoyable collaboration,” Lapayowker and Hediger said in a joint release, adding that the collaboration is particularly important in a niche market that relies heavily on relationships.
Following the acquisition, AFC will continue to function as an independent operation. “It will be business as usual. What will change is AFC’s ability to expand capacity, attract top talent, and further enhance the high level of service our clients have come to expect,” Hediger said. “I have enormous respect for Stewart and believe he is absolutely the perfect strategic partner to expand AFC’s work.”
Lapayowker added: “I welcome the opportunity to invest in Glenn’s 35-plus years of experience in this industry. I am confident that our shared vision and natural rapport will grow AFC many times over.”
Located in Alexandria, Virginia, AFC provides a range of services for the business and general aviation community surrounding federal excise tax compliance, state sales and use tax planning, personal and entertainment use reporting, SEC aircraft-related disclosure and tax reporting, GAAP tax accounting, and acquisition/disposition planning. Hediger has 35 years of experience in tax, accounting, and government affairs roles at Dassault Falcon Jet and as a client consultant.
Based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Lapayowker provides counsel to corporate and individual clients on issues relating to the acquisition, sale, leasing, registration, and financing of new and preowned jet aircraft, including fractional aircraft. He recently released a book: “Buying a Private Jet? What you don’t know.”
Both are actively involved during NBAA-BACE, with Hediger on the slate of speakers during the Tax Conference on the eve of the event, as well as Lapayowker during the Private Family Office Program planned for October 14 and 15.
