Bristow Group has added the Airbus H160 to its rotorcraft fleet through a leasing deal with Milestone Aviation, announced on Monday at the Dubai Airshow. The five H160s will be deployed for offshore energy industry support missions for customers across Africa.
Powered by a pair of 1,300-shp Safran Arrano 1A turboshaft engines, the H160 can operate with one or two pilots carrying up to 12 passengers. It has a range of up to 480 nm and a cruise speed of 130 knots.
The H160 is already in service across Europe and North America, as well as in Brazil, China, India, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Saudi Arabia. In addition to offshore energy missions, the helicopter is used for law enforcement, emergency medical flights, and private passenger transportation.
“We are extremely proud to welcome Bristow as a new H160 operator,” said Airbus Helicopters CEO Bruno Even. “Their trust in the H160 for their critical offshore missions in Africa is a major milestone for the program. This agreement is also a testament to our strong and lasting partnership with Milestone, whose confidence in the H160 as a versatile and reliable asset is paving the way for its success in the global leasing market. We look forward to working closely with both Bristow and Milestone to ensure a smooth and successful entry into the energy market in Africa.”
