The San Marino Civil Aviation Authority has issued CAR-145 maintenance approval to business aviation services group DC Aviation Al-Futtaim (DCAF) at Dubai Al Maktoum International Airport (OMDW). The certification, which followed a three-month application process, allows DCAF to provide line and base maintenance for San Marino-registered business aircraft, both privately and commercially operated.
According to managing director Holger Ostheimer, the approval expands options for independent maintenance support for aircraft managed by DCAF and also those operated by third parties.
Under the certification, DCAF is now authorized to provide base maintenance for a wide range of types, including legacy Bombardier Globals and Challenger 604/605/650s; Gulfstream G650s; Embraer Legacy 600/650s; and Airbus A320-series twinjets. Line maintenance will also be available on certain Boeing Business Jets, and Dassault Falcon 900EX/EASy, 7X, and 8X models.
The Europe-based DC Aviation group, which was originally part of the Daimler Chrysler corporate flight department, is mainly focused on aircraft management and charter, as well as maintenance, repair and overhaul. With a headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany, it also has locations in Malta, Munich, Nice, San Marino, and Aruba.
