Argus: July Global Bizav Flying Activity Climbs 5.6%

Global business aviation flight activity rose 5.6% year over year in July, increasing 4.4% from June, according to Argus Analytics’ latest TraqPak data. North American activity remained strong across all operational categories, climbing 4.3% year over year, while Europe’s activity slipped 1.2% year over year, its first yearly decline in 14 months.

North America’s year-over-year gains were broad-based. Fractional operators led the way, up 10% from July 2025, followed by Part 135 activity, up 4.8%, and Part 91, up 1.4%. By aircraft category, turboprops posted the largest yearly increase at 4.7%, followed by light jets at 4.2%, midsize jets at 4.1%, and large jets at 3.7%. Of the 12 individual segments tracked, only two logged a decline, and both were in the Part 91 category. The largest individual gain came from the large-cabin fractional segment, which grew 20.4% year over year.

North American activity climbed 4.2% from June, with average daily flights up by 80. By category, Part 135 activity posted the highest monthly gain at 5.2%. Part 91 rose 4.7%, and fractional activity gained 1.3%. Five of the eight FAA regions saw activity increase from June, with the strongest results clustered in the northern U.S.; New England posted the steepest climb, up 26.3%. Results were mixed outside the continental U.S., as Canadian activity rose 8.5% from June and Caribbean activity dropped 6.6%, yielding a combined 5.0% monthly gain for the two markets.

In Europe, large-cabin jets drove most of the loss, falling 6.5% year over year, while small-cabin jets slipped 0.9%. Midsize jets and turboprops posted yearly gains of 1.8% and 3.0%, respectively. Despite the yearly decline, European activity rose 4.3% from June, with every category posting monthly gains: midsize jets up 6.0%, small-cabin jets up 4.9%, turboprops up 4.1%, and large-cabin jets up 2.5%.

The remaining regions—Africa, Asia, Australia, and South America—recorded the strongest growth of any area tracked in the report. Combined activity rose 18.5% year over year, with every segment posting double-digit gains: turboprops up 23.9%, small-cabin jets up 16.3%, midsize jets up 14.3%, and large-cabin jets up 11.0%. Month-over-month activity in the combined regions increased 4.6%.

TraqPak analysts project North American activity to grow 3.5% year over year in August, with European activity expected to rise 0.6% over the same period.
