Content Body

Berkshire Hathaway said revenues at its aviation services division—fractional share and charter operator NetJets and aviation training provider FlightSafety International—grew 15.5% year over year (YOY) in the first half of 2026. The company cited this as one of the elements—along with electronics distributor TTI and construction and engineering firm IPS—that lifted the broader service group revenue by $1.2 billion, or 21.1%, in the second quarter, to $6.874 billion.

According to Berkshire, the aviation services gain reflected a larger number of aircraft enrolled in NetJets’ fractional programs, along with more hours flown and more time spent in FlightSafety’s training programs, as well as higher pricing across the board. Those gains were tempered somewhat by rising costs tied to flight crews and instructors, as well as higher spending on maintenance, fuel, and outside contract work.

The broader service group’s pre-tax earnings rose $150 million, or 20.6%, in the second quarter, a gain attributed mainly to TTI and the aviation businesses. Over the first six months, service group revenue increased $2.1 billion, or 19.1%, to $13.308 billion, while pre-tax earnings rose $287 million, or 20.8%, versus a year ago.

In addition to NetJets, FlightSafety, IPS, and TTI, Berkshire’s service group includes Dairy Queen; transportation and furniture lessors XTRA and CORT; logistics provider Charter Brokerage; Business Wire, a distributor of electronic news and regulatory filings; and Miami television station WPLG.
