Content Body

The International Business Aviation Council’s (IBAC) new Core safety program helps small aviation organizations manage risk. Unveiled this week at NBAA-BACE 2026, Core assists smaller operators, ground handlers, and maintenance and service providers in building a safety management foundation without audits, formal compliance reviews, or strict implementation timelines, IBAC said. It provides practical tools and step-by-step guidance on understanding, managing, and communicating daily risks.

“Building a strong management foundation is at the core of our industry’s resilience regardless of the team’s size or administrative resources,” said IBAC director general Kurt Edwards. “The Core framework provides small teams with a practical approach to risk at their own pace. Its supportive toolkit is designed to strengthen safety practices and team communication and can evolve with operations as they grow into formal safety systems over time.”

The Core platform includes flexible, team-paced risk flows for small-scale operations, a practical risk management framework with online guidance videos and tailored tools, a non-audit framework that focuses on hazard identification, and rolling deployment through IBAC member associations globally.

In other news this week, IBAC named four more industry partners, increasing that program to 10 organizations and expanding its global reach. Industry partners collaborate with IBAC to support its mission and advocate for global business aviation.

The latest partners are U.S.-based private aviation services company Solairus Aviation; aviation property developer Berthaphil Clark Freeport Aviation Properties, based in the Clark Freeport Zone, Philippines; business aviation international procedures training company Scott International Procedures; and Canadian aerospace consultant Crimson Air Services.
