Elbit Streamlines MiG-29 Cockpit

One set of options for MiG-29 operators involves the cockpit modernization packages offered by Israel’s Elbit Systems. The modular approach allows for the integration of new sensors, systems and weapons, along with an improved man-machine interface. Elbit, which also serves as the main avionics supplier for IsraeliF-16s, had previously established its retrofit credentials by breathing new life into other aging fighters, such as the MiG-21 (in partnership with Romania’s Aerostar), the Romanian IAR 99 lead-in trainer and its Czech counterpart, the L-39.
