Content Body

Canadian avionics house CMC Electronics will supply its integrated Cockpit 4000 suite for the 40 KT-1C basic trainers that Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) has sold to Turkey. The KT-1C is an upgraded, export version of the KT-1 that is already in service with the Republic of Korea Air Force. The KT-1C was the first application for the Cockpit 4000 avionics suite: KAI selected CMC for the prototype installation in January 2003. CMC is supplying 25 head-up displays (HUDs) for the Pilatus PC-21s the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) has bought for basic pilot training. At the Singapore Air Show in mid-February, CMC showed a new portable mission display named TacView. It is a compact, self-contained unit that can show night-vision images, datalink displays, digital moving maps, weather maps, electronic aeronautical charts and targeting pod imagery. The U.S. Air Force Special Operations Command has already selected TacView for its AC-130 gunship fleet.
