EDS, Siemens Team on Defense Logistics

EDS (Hall 1A Exhibitor’s Club Restaurant and Bar) and product lifecycle management specialist Siemens PLM Software (Hall 4 Stand E17) are combining their respective aerospace and defense logistics and IT infrastructure services skills to create
a new Defense Logistics Solution. The companies aim to help OEMs, suppliers and defense services or agencies reduce the time, risk and expense associated with defense and performance-based logistics contracts.

The solution uses Siemens PLM’s Teamcenter software portfolio and, the vendors say, is tailored to the needs of organizations that support and service complex, long-lifecycle products such as aircraft, weapon systems, ships and power plants. EDS says it will contribute its logistics and aerospace/defense experience, local presence and the IT solutions needed to integrate people, systems and processes.
