Sensor specialist Hensoldt (Stand 1039) is showcasing at the Dubai Airshow a broad range of sensor technologies in the airborne solutions domain, designed for deployment on aircraft, helicopters, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and for support of defense operations. The lineup of Hensoldt’s solutions on display include its PrecISR multi-mission surveillance radar and the Argos II electro-optical gimbal, which can seamlessly integrate into the new Xplorer Mission System.

The German company’s Airborne Missile Protection Suite (AMPS) on display protects helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft, while the modular Kalaetron electronic warfare system provides warning against radar threats and, in an enhanced configuration, for strategic intelligence.

The highly modular Xpeller counter-UAV system, combining radar, electro-optics, and direction finders, offers protection against UAVs over critical areas, in addition to target neutralization effectors such as jammers and drone catchers, via a single command and control system.

Hensoldt's Twinvis passive radar, which enables monitoring of airspace up to 250 km without emitting radar signals, can integrate into a small van or off-road vehicle for “almost unlimited” possible uses, according to the company.

Also on display in Dubai, a virtual reality application allows visitors to don headsets for an immersive display of operational scenarios for application of Hensoldt's portfolio of systems, including Ground Based Air Defense (GBAD) and Air Traffic Management (ATM) solutions. The GBAD simulation features the TRML4-D Multi-Functional Air Surveillance and Target Acquisition Radar System. The ATM solution incorporates the ASR-NG air traffic control radar, MSSR 20000 ID secondary radar, Twinvis passive radar, and Xpeller counter-UAV system for glidepath and airport perimeter surveillance and drone defense.

Hensoldt is also showcasing its Mode 5-capable IFF (identification friend or foe) system, crash recorders, and tactical data links.
