Having successfully established its flight simulators in the commercial aviation market, Euramec (Stand 851C) is expanding into simulators for the military, the European company said at the Dubai Airshow. The move accompanies the expansion of its training solutions to encompass full mission training, with stations for surveillance, aerial firefighting, and air refueling.

“We came a long way—starting with standard flight sim solutions in general aviation in 2015—and it is thanks to our customers that we announce today our new strategic focus on customized flight sim solutions, both in commercial aviation and defense,” said Euramec CEO Bert Buyle.

The company builds EASA- and CAAC-certified, fully functional simulators for the Airbus A320 family and other aircraft and delivers integrated services to commercial flight training centers, government agencies, and private flight schools. Meanwhile, demand for Euramec's simulators for piston and turboprop general aviation aircraft from Cessna, Diamond, Piper, and other manufacturers remains strong, Buyle said, signaling the market “that Euramec delivers exactly what the customer expects.”

Demand is also growing in the recreational aviation segment, for both light sport and ultralight aircraft, and Euramec has in-house technology that can produce accurate replicas of these cockpits at an affordable price, the company said.
