Embraer is in discussions with Thai Aviation Industries—a provider of maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for state and commercial aircraft—about potentially establishing the Bangkok-based company as a local authorized service center (ASC).
In that position, Thai Aviation would be well-placed to provide in-country maintenance for the small fleet of Embraer ERJ-135s operated by the Royal Thai Armed Forces. If the initiative is successful, it could be implemented before the end of the year.
Growing Thai Aviation as a local ASC is aligned with Thailand’s desire to build a solid aerospace and defense capability through local industrial engagement with international OEMs. For Embraer, the partnership provides a basis for future growth and reinforces its KC-390 offer to the Royal Thai Air Force.
