Airbus Helicopters (Booth 7750, Static 19) and The Helicopter Company (THC) are collaborating to introduce urban air mobility in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The agreement foresees the decarbonization of flight operations for Airbus’ products in THC’s fleet, including the use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) for conventional helicopters and the introduction of urban air mobility (UAM) services. This cooperation between the parties and the Kingdom’s aviation authorities will enable UAM aviation missions, including emergency medical services, ecotourism, and private and business aviation.
THC’s current Airbus fleet includes 10 H125s, 20 five-blade H145s (with an option for an additional 10), and six ACH160s (with an option for an additional four).
“We are looking forward to working closely with THC to further develop our strong commitment to the decarbonization of our customers’ missions,” said Bruno Even, CEO of Airbus Helicopters. Capt. Arnaud Martinez, the CEO of THC, added: “We are pleased to be a part of this opportunity to contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions in the urban transportation market together with Airbus.”
