Content Body

Eve Air Mobility has signed letters of intent covering potential sales of 50 more of its four-passenger eVTOL aircraft that could be operated in Costa Rica. On June 30, the Embraer subsidiary announced agreements with Aerosolutions and Bluenest by Globalvia that build on the sales momentum it achieved at the Paris Air Show in June, where it sealed deals with prospective air taxi operators Revo and Future Flight Global.

The partnership with Aerosolutions is based on that company’s plans for a new operation in Costa Rica called Aeros Electric Airlines. The customer intends to use the Eve vehicle to operate on sectors of up to around 30 nm, connecting airports with resorts and so-called eco-destinations along the Central American country’s Pacific coast.

The agreement with Bluenest by Globalvia covers arrangements for vertiports in Costa Rica and providing operational support. Globalvia already operates the country’s main highway and has been supporting Eve for some time with infrastructure development and trial operations near Guanacaste.

EHang Books More eVTOL Orders

Also on June 30, China’s EHang announced a purchase order for 50 of its already-certified EH216-S autonomous eVTOL vehicles. Its latest customer is Guizhou Scenic Tourism Development, which plans to use the aircraft for sightseeing flights in Guizhou province.

On July 1, the manufacturer signed another agreement with Reignwood Aviation Group. This did not specify how many EH216-S aircraft will be purchased, but the general aviation company has agreed to work with EHang to develop so-called low-altitude economy services at Bangkok and Phuket in Thailand. The EH216-S is currently only approved for operations in China.
