The University of North Dakota placed an order with Cessna for 25 Skyhawks, marking a return of the model to the school’s flight program. The first four airplanes were delivered to UND Aerospace, the university’s aviation department, during a ceremony on July 10 at Cessna’s manufacturing plant in Independence, Kansas. Earlier this year UND Aerospace took delivery of a Cessna Citation Mustang, making it the first college flight program to add the jet to its fleet. Cessna models had been absent from the UND flight line in recent years, as the school chose to operate a fleet of 80 aircraft that includes various Piper models and the Cirrus SR20. List price for the
172 Skyhawk is $234,500.
