NavWorx and Garmin have signed a licensing agreement so that the NavWorx ADS600-B ADS-B transceiver can interface with Garmin GNS and GTN navigators. The Garmin navigators can thus provide the required position source for the ADS-600B, eliminating the need to interface with the ADS600-B’s GPS receiver to meet the FAA’s Jan 1., 2020 ADS-B OUT mandate.
With a retail price of $1,999, the ADS600-B provides 978 MHz ADS-B OUT (for aircraft flying below FL180) and IN, and it is remote-mounted, with a simple wiring connection to the aircraft required for installation, according to NavWorx. Using the GNS/GTN navigators as the position source eliminates the need to install a separate GPS antenna and additional wiring to use the ADS600-B’s internal WAAS GPS receiver.
The ADS600-B’s ADS-B IN features are available for display on portable devices via an optional Wi-Fi adapter or on compatible panel-mounted avionics via RS232, RS422 and (optional) Arinc 429 interfaces.
