Titanium Asia 2018, a conference and exhibition hosted by the International Titanium Association (ITA), was held on February 4 and 5 at the Grand Hyatt Singapore. The conference topics addressed the state of the aerospace industry and supply-chain issues.


One of the top speakers at Titanium Asia was Nicole Lecca, senior v-p of material and part procurement for Airbus, who has experience with metal and composite raw materials as well as parts procurement for Airbus Group programs. Another highly anticipated speaker was Henry Seiner, who serves as v-p of business strategy for Titanium Metals Corp. Meanwhile Dr. MP Sukumaran Nair, chairman of Kerala Minerals and Metals Ltd., addressed India’s goals for expanding its growing titanium and zirconium market into the aerospace industry.


Other scheduled speakers included Shuanxiao Jia, general manager of Baoji Titanium Industry Co. Ltd; Graham P. Walker, v-p of sales and marketing at AMETEK Specialty Metal Products and a member of the ITA executive board; and Gary Lantzke, CEO of Callidus Welding Solutions.


Exhibitors at Titanium Asia included China Huaxia Special Metal Ltd.; KV-Titan Ltd.; Grandis Titanium Co.; ELG Utica Alloys; Hangzhou King Titanium Co. Ltd.; Perryman Co.; Tinita Engineering Private Ltd.; and Hangsterfer’s Laboratories Inc.
