Metro Aviation’s fleet has grown to more than 140 aircraft with the announcement of a contract awarded from WakeMed North Carolina for three Airbus Helicopters EC135s, along with one spare helicopter. The contract is expected to be executed within the next two months. Metro has also placed a fourth aircraft at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.

Meanwhile, Kopter and Metro Aviation (Booth N2207) are continuing their relationship to develop various interiors for Kopter’s SH09 light single. “We’re working side-by-side with Kopter to develop the EMS interiors. We’re also going to be working with them closely to develop law enforcement, VIP, and other components for that aircraft,” said Metro Aviation managing director Milton Geltz.

Kenny Morrow, now the former director of finance and business development at Metro Aviation, was officially promoted on Wednesday to COO of the company. “This is the new generation coming in to Metro to carry the torch. We get asked every month to try and sell out. Metro is not for sale. It will always be here in this great industry and we are proud to be here,” said Metro Aviation president and CEO Mike Stanberry.
