Echodyne's EchoGuard compact 3D radar sensor now integrated into SRI's airfield radar system
Content Body

Compact radar maker Echodyne's EchoGuard 3D radar sensor had been selected by Security Radar Integrators (SRI) for its counter-unmanned aerial system (C-UAS) security solutions, the company announced. EchoGuard has been fully integrated into SRI’s Airfield Radar System (ARS), a leading radar-based security solution for airports that require small UAS detection and tracking. SRI is now offering this technology to seaports, corrections facilities, and other critical infrastructure.

Echodyne manufactures small, beam-steering, electronically scanned array (ESA) radars for government and commercial markets. When integrated into a multi-sensor system, Echodyne radars cue other sensors for object identification. Echodyne said its metamaterial electronically scanning array (MESA) technology produces phased-array radar performance at an economical price.

“Echodyne radars have demonstrated tremendous capabilities that we and our customers need in our solution portfolio as we add 3D capabilities to secure against UAS threats,” said SRI president Daniel Flynn. Metamaterials engineers man-made materials to have properties outside of those found in the natural world. The Echodyne system combines MESA with its Acuity radar software to deliver performance typically found in larger, more expensive radars.
