The I Hart Flying Foundation (IHFF), which supports aviation scholarships for women, announced an expanded program thanks to new contributions from Immaculate Flight, Paragon Aviation Group, AEG Fuels, and Dassault Falcon Jet. It plans to release details at this year’s EAA AirVenture during Wednesday’s EAA WomenVenture Day.
The new scholarships will total at least $30,000 and be awarded to four women. “This is an incredible organization, and we feel honored to be able to support women in aviation,” said Megan Barnes, president of Paragon Aviation Group. “I was blessed to be born into an amazing aviation family and learned to fly at an early age. Being able to share this opportunity through the I Hart Flying team is a true gift.”
Traditionally, each scholarship award is between $2,500 to $5,000. Scholars also receive various in-kind donations from partners that add more than $3,000 in value. Established in 2017 by Rachelle Hart, IHFF has awarded more than $120,000 in scholarship funding, training packages, pilot supplies, and flight training equipment to 21 scholars to date. The organization also provides active mentorship and counsel to its scholars, aiding them along their aviation careers including military, commercial, business, air medical, humanitarian, and cargo operations. The scholarship will also fund the travel of recipients to this year’s NBAA-BACE where they will be able to pursue networking and educational opportunities.
