Adventure Pilot has updated the iFly EFB app to version 12.1 to include checklists and helicopter mode. The app is one of the few electronic flight bag (EFB) apps with a full feature set that is available for iOS, Android, and Windows devices.
Checklists can be accessed from the sketch tab, which now includes checklists and weight and balance in addition to the sketch feature. Pilots can create checklists from scratch or start with a premade sample based on the type of aircraft, although the ability to import checklists isn't available yet. The iFly EFB checklists are designed to help pilots simplify the flying process, and each step is organized in a customizable sequential order.
The new helicopter mode changes the charts and maps in the app to helicopter charts, and they can be downloaded as needed for the U.S. states where the user is flying. One of the helicopter mode features includes the ability to change the aircraft symbol to a particular helicopter type, and the weight and balance form includes helicopter and gyrocopter parameters.
Like many EFB apps, iFly EFB offers moving-map navigation, synthetic vision, flight planning, ADS-B In traffic and weather, terrain and obstacle alerts, and many other features.
The iFly EFB 12.1 update is now available for iOS, Android, and Windows tablets. It will update automatically on most devices but the newest version can also be downloaded from each platform’s respective app store.
