Advantage Air to convert two Dash 8-400s into full-time cargo aircraft using De Havilland Canada’s Package Freighter Conversion Kits.
Content Body

De Havilland Aircraft of Canada has secured an order for two package freighter conversion kits from Advantage Air Travel, supporting the Kenya operator’s continued investment in Dash 8-400 freighter operations. The kits are scheduled for delivery later next year.

“We are proud to continue our collaboration with Advantage Air as they expand their cargo operations from their home base at Wilson Airport in Nairobi,” said De Havilland Canada v-p of sales and marketing Ryan DeBrusk. “Their decision to invest in our package freighter product highlights the value of our dedicated cargo solutions and the growing demand for reliable, rugged aircraft in regional markets.”

Advantage Air CEO Mohammad Somow said the kits will “enhance our capacity to meet cargo demands with speed, reliability, and efficiency—leveraging the proven durability and performance of the Dash 8-400.”

The package freighter conversion kit permanently reconfigures Dash 8-400s from passenger layout to dedicated cargo operations. The modified aircraft includes nine cargo loading zones, eight radial spider nets, smoke detection systems, and an optional palletized cargo loading system.
