Content Body

Bombardier will serve as the presenting sponsor for the 2025 National Aeronautic Association (NAA) Aviation Records Celebration, scheduled for July 11 at the Kansas Aviation Museum in Wichita. The annual event recognizes verified U.S. aviation record attempts, with many also ratified as world records by the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI). The Records Celebration is open to the public with limited ticket availability.

Clay Lacy will be among the notable attendees at this year’s event, alongside David Hurley and Bruce McCaw, both Living Legends of Aviation. Bombardier recently commemorated the 60th anniversary of the first business jet record, set in 1965 by Lacy and John “Jack” Conroy. The pair completed a record-setting one-day round-trip flight from Los Angeles to New York in a Learjet in Operation “Sunrise Sunset.”

The NAA, which serves as the official recordkeeper for U.S. aviation, certifies dozens of national and international record attempts each year. “Bombardier’s unwavering commitment to aeronautic excellence aligns perfectly with the core mission of the NAA,” said Amy Spowart, president and CEO of the association. “This collaboration enhances the event and gives Bombardier a unique opportunity to celebrate and showcase its enduring ties to the Wichita aerospace community.”

“Striving for excellence in everything we do is intrinsic to Bombardier’s DNA, and working with the NAA on this Records Celebration perfectly aligns with this vision,” said Chris Milligan, v-p of certified aircraft and flight operations at Bombardier and a director of the NAA. “Your achievements inspire us all.”
