Training To Prevent and Recover from In-flight Upsets Can Save Lives — Part 2

After starting upset prevention and recovery training at the controls of an Aviation Performance Solutions Extra 300 aerobatic aircraft, AIN contributor Kipp Lau switched to a SIAI-Marchetti S211 jet to learn how to handle high-altitude upsets and loss-of-control scenarios in a swept-wing jet. Under the guidance of a former U.S. Navy fighter pilot Clarke “Otter” McNeace, Lau flew a variety of loss of control in flight scenarios in the S211 before completing the course with some additional simulator exercises.
