Description
Australia’s Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) is seeking comments on its draft roadmap outlining the agency’s options for regulations to clarify safety regulations and safety oversight for remotely powered aircraft (RPAS) and advanced air mobility (AAM) over the next 10 years and beyond. The roadmap aims to provide a long-term plan to integrate these types of aircraft into Australia’s airspace and future regulatory system. As a draft document, it does not represent current government policy or predetermine the options the government may consider when making final decisions. Nor is CASA seeking comments on matters of existing RPAS policy and legislation. Comments are due by April 19, 2022.
