AD requires repetitive inspections of the magnetic plugs installed on the main gearbox and, depending on findings, accomplishment of applicable action(s). Failure to comply with these new inspection instructions and criteria could prevent timely detection of potentially unsafe main gearbox wear damage, EASA said.
