AD requires replacement of the main gearbox lubrication system electrical or non-electrical magnetic plug chip detector with an improved, non-electrical part. Prompted by an EC225 helicopter accident and the subsequent investigation that determined the detection capability of the main gearbox lubrication system needed to be improved by replacing the existing chip detector installed at the pump intake with a more efficient one.
