Prompted by an investigation following a runway excursion that revealed the nose wheel steering selector valve can be slow to deactivate under low-temperature conditions. In the event of an uncommanded steering input, a slow steering selector valve deactivation could lead to a delayed transition to free castor mode and result in an aircraft runway excursion, according to Transport Canada.
